Founded in 1956, China
Academy of Aerospace Aerodynamics (CAAA) is the
first national aerodynamic research and test ground,
under the instruction of Xuesen Qian, well known
as the father of China's missile. There are currently
around 1,500 researchers in CAAA, over 300 of
them are senior engineers, 10 national and ministry
experts of outstanding contribution, 2 academicians
and about 40 technicians who enjoys special government
allowance.

The department of measurement
and control technology, established for 50 years,
stemming from six-axis sensor technique used in
wind tunnel, is the first institution specializing
in the design, research and production of strain
gauge and sensor. In the past 50 years, the institution
has been in service for military support. With
a few accomplished mission rewarded by the superiors,
the institution has been making great contribution
to the development of the aerospace industry.
After the reform and
opening up, apart from military product research,
the department actively develops the civil market
in compliance with the age requirement. The products
possess wide popularity in industrial automation
system for its reliability and durability. It
obtained the certificate of the manufacture of
the measurement instruments in 1987, and passed
ISO 9001 International Quality System Certification
in 2000.
Years of study on military
products provides us with a research team of discretion
and sophistication, skilled work teams, complete
designing and manufacturing techniques, and exquisite
supporting equipments. The vast development in
recent years has achieved a large-scale and industrialization
process. There are a full range of products and
strong industrial integration abilities. The main
products are load cell/weighing sensor, pressure
sensor, torque sensor, angle sensor, portable
pressure measuring device for mining use, matched
display instruments, transmitters, strain gauges
and so on.
In the meanwhile, CAAA
possesses the most high power plasma arc heater
(arc wind tunnel)in Asia, with the maximum power
up to 30MW, the heating temperature of 10000℃.
Based on the aerothermodynamics technology and
equipment capacity, the complete sets of equipment
of plasma heating technology and CFD computer
simulation technology of furnace combustion, are
counted as the key civil-to-military technique.
This technique is in line with the trend of world
environmental development and resource saving,
and in compliance with the industrial policy of
the national energy conservation and emission
reduction. It can be widely used in solid waste
treatment (pioneered), solar silicon purification
(national initiative), chemical industry, metallurgy,
electric power among other industries.
In addition, our department
which has developed for 30 years, has become the
appointed production site of aerospace optical
components. The department has completed many
missions of military precision optical component
processing, accumulated rich production experience
of optical components and formed production and
processing capacity for series of optical components.
In recent years, our
department not only provides matching products
for the aerospace, but also produces civilian
products. We successfully offer the optical components
of high precision, large size, and special requirement
for the local research institute in China, Europe
and America.
Our department possesses
large-size coating equipment which can receive
coating tasks such as high reflectance multilayer
coating, antireflective coating, light splitting
coating and metal coating.
The main products are:
high-precision optical prism and plane window,
large-scale plane and spherical components, ultra-thin
optical plane, micro-components, and conventional
plane mirror, lens, cylindrical lens, prisms,
and non-spherical lens.
